Top 100 Brands for 2008

I’m still researching for my top 25 culturally affluent companies, but while I was searching the net, I did stumble on to a site listing the top 100 global brands for 2008.
The blurbs about each company are pretty short, but not a bad place to start, since a strong brand identity is one of the most important traits of a top 25 culturally affluent company. While I’m still hypothesizing at this point, the goal is to figure out the relationships between successful companies and how they influence, or are influenced by, the culture at large. With the assumption being that the most successful companies have the strongest cultural ties in multiple areas of excellence.
