Social Networking in Plain English

One of the issues I’ve always had with social networking online is understanding how to network with people outside of my immediate contacts. It’s really more of an art than a science, as many people you meet may never see you face to face. I believe Bill Gates once said that he gave up on Facebook, because he couldn’t tell which were his friends, and which were just “friends.” It’s an interesting conundrum to be sure, but no matter how many people say otherwise, social networking is a necessary advancement and it won’t be going away.

The video doesn’t answer the above question per say, but it does give a nice lesson on the problems inherent with social networking as well as an overhead view of how social networking is supposed to work. It also reminds me of those UPS commercials from the Superbowl a couple of years ago. Enjoy!
